“The Los Angeles City Commission on the Status of Women, in partnership with the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti, and with support from the Los Angeles City Council and community partners, invite you to the launch of Shifting Narratives: The Strength of Women Survivors on March 8th, 2019. This art exhibit will highlight original work by survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence and homelessness. The 2019 Pioneer Women Awards will also take place, elevating women who have made an impact in L.A.
8:30 AM - 9:15 AM: Networking and Light Breakfast
9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Remarks, Awards Ceremony, and Performance
10:00 AM - 10:30AM: Presentation led by Councilmembers Nury Martinez & Monica Rodriguez in Los Angeles City Council Chambers
10:30 AM -1:00 PM: After the formal event, guests will be encouraged to visit the art exhibit freely. Guests will also be invited to visit Women on the Move - a mobile billboard and resource center focused on addressing sexual assault, harassment and domestic violence
The art exhibit will be on display at the Los Angeles City Hall Bridge between Friday, March 8th to Friday, March 29th, 2019. The art exhibit is free and open to the public during Los Angeles City Hall business hours.
